VSPC Exhibits at Premier Global Travel Show

Armed with a Winter the Dolphin-themed booth, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater will head to the United Kingdom to showcase the destination at World Travel Market next week in London. Dolphin Tale—the 3D major motion picture inspired by and starring Winter—opened in the UK on October 14.

Dubbed ‘the premier global event for the travel industry,’ World Travel Market drew nearly 27,000 visitors over four days in 2010. Of that number, 2,648 were members of the international press.

Also at the 2010 show, more than 5,000 companies and organizations, including destinations and travel and tourism companies, exhibited.

“This is one of the world’s largest travel shows,” said DT Minich, VSPC’s Executive Director, adding that he expects this year’s attendance figures to be similar to last year’s.

World Travel Market events include seminars, presentations and debates on the latest industry trends and developments. Minich said he feels especially fortunate that VSPC will be at the show when the newly formed federal organization, the Corporation for Travel Promotion, is scheduled to unveil Brand USA, a marketing initiative to boost international tourism to the United States.

Also exhibiting at World Travel Market will be three local partners: Sunset Vistas Beachfront Suites, Sheraton Sand Key Resort and the Alden Beach Resort & Suites.
