Why VSPC’s New Mag Won’t Be Called “Jeff”

“Reflections,” “Serenity,” “Live the Life,” and, strangely, “Jeff.”

These are just some of the suggested names already submitted for our first-ever Destination Magazine, which is slated to launch in January 2013. Give us your best suggestions here—keeping in mind a few guidelines to increase your chances of naming our new baby.

We’re looking for names that are breezy, yet elegant, professional, yet sunny—which is perhaps why “Jeff” is not at the top of the list at the moment.

It’s no small task, since the new magazine is the official destination publication and will contain content from Tarpon Springs to Fort De Soto—and everything in between—covering subjects ranging from cuisine to culture and sports to sunsets.

Also, while the magazine is launching as an annual publication, the frequency could move to several seasonal editions in the future, so keep that in mind when you are brainstorming. The look and feel will resemble Bay magazine, a Tampa Bay Times award-winning bi-monthly culture and lifestyle publication, featuring stunning photography, maps and an oversized format able to convey the panoramic beauty of the area.

The initial deadline to be included in the magazine is Nov. 30 with a second materials deadline following on Dec. 7. Advertisers have the opportunity to choose from eight different template ads ranging from a full page to halves and quarters. There are premium placement options, too. All of the rates are unchanged from last year’s 50 percent smaller visitor’s guide. Click here for complete advertising information.
